- Aug 16, 2011 For some reason D2 never saved my character into the save file, and the only way for me to actually access my character is by loading up D2 with the PlugY starter. Also, I'm having trouble getting the 1.10 patch to install, it just tells me mine is more up to date, even after I deleted the patch file, so are there other files I need to delete?
- First check your documents folder and see if it is there. Then check your appdata folders. It'll be c://users/YOURNAME/appdata/local/ and one of the subfolders. It might be Blizzard folder or D2 folder or it might be in the virtualstore/programfiles (x86) folder.
- Color coded Diablo 2 style popup item descriptions. Support for.d2i (original Jamella format) files. AutoGather feature that autoloads many.d2i files into a single ATMA stash. Dupe Detector that will scan through characters, stashes, and item files to detect duplicate items. Support for 1.10s beta items.
Diablo II; Diablo III; Get it Here! Always make a backup of the files that are overwritten by the File Archive, as the original files are usually required to.
Backup Diablo 2 Save Files Online
I reinstalled Debian on my machine a few weeks ago. I had recently been playing Diablo 2 on my old installation, using wine from the winehq.org repo. Everything ran flawlessly with no trouble.
After a clean reinstall of Debian and wine, the same installation of Diablo 2 (on a separate drive) would no longer play. After fruitless efforts to fix it, I deleted the old Diablo 2 installation and reinstalled it, with the very same results.
When I run the video test (D2VidTst.exe) I am now told 'No Video Modes Found', whereas before, I had a choice between DirectDraw and Direct3D. (I have also reinstalled the propriety NVidia driver, as before, and it seems to be working correctly.) If I try to run the game anyway, I get this in the console:
Diablo 2 Save Files Download

- Code: Select all
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x34e474,0x00000000), stub!
err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode found 640x480x8 @0! (XRandR)
followed by a popup box saying:
- Code: Select all
Error 22: A critical error has occurred while initializing DirectDraw.
Diablo 2 Character Files

Hey guys. After much testing and trying I am now asking for help. I have attempted to use various of the 'No-CD' patches and they'll load the game, but the claimed 'b.net' support does not work. I also tried out many of the loaders which allow a backup CD to be used, but 'b.net' support, as claimed, was in fact unsupported.
Either method, no-CD or backup CD, will load the game yet neither can achieve a successful connection with battle.net. Both methods result in a battle.net error message 'Cannot Identify Product Version' when in fact I had patched to the latest version, 1.08.
I have given up on trying to get the game to work with a no-CD patch and am focusing on creating a successful backup CD. I have seen two ways posted here and tried them both to no avail. One was to use CloneCD and the other to use CDRWin. Neither backup could load up the game without a loader file.
I'm asking all you guys who have successfully created a working Diablo 2: LOD backup CD to help me, and all the other people here who have encountered the same problem and are now at a deadend. Thanks for reading. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
